Your Vote Counts: Reef Check Australia Are Banksia Finalists

There’s exciting news from Reef Check Australia – they’ve been selected as a finalist for the Banksia Environmental Awards:  People’s Choice Award.

This category is part of the highly prestigious environmental awards, celebrated annually by the Banksia Foundation for 21 years. Reef Check Australia has also been nominated as a finalist in the Water Category, which will be judged by a panel and the winner announced at the end of next month.

Reef Check Australia has been recognised by the Banksia Foundation for their efforts towards a sustainable future for the Australian coral reefs. This is a huge achievement as they are just one of nine contenders for the People’s Choice Award.

Now we need your help! Voting is now open to the Australian public so we need as many people to vote as possible.

All you need to do to vote is visit: www.peopleschoice.com.au and click on “more info” under Reef Check Australia. Then on the following page, scroll down and click “vote here.”

Then, just complete the form with your name, email address, state and postcode. If you’re technically not living in Australia (friends and family abroad), use Queensland and 4810 as your details.Voting closes midnight 20 July 2009.
