The latest report from @noaa and the ICRI confirms the devastating impact of the fourth global coral bleaching event, highlighting the urgent need for action to protect our precious marine ecosystems.
“Reef Check Malaysia has been monitoring this bleaching event as it unfolded over the last few months, using data from NOAA. In February, we started planning a monitoring program, including training local teams to monitor the onset, spread, duration and impact of the bleaching event. We wanted to get better data on the impact. We are now conducting regular bleaching monitoring surveys, based on the Reef Check standard survey methodology.” ~ Julian Hyde, CEO
While climate change is a major driver of coral bleaching, we can all play a role in mitigating its effects. By advocating for policies that address climate change, buying our necessities from true eco-conscious businesses, and reducing our own carbon footprints, we can help slow down the current crisis.

We are looking for a Program Coordinator to assist our Dive into Science program in Southern California!
Primary Responsibilities:
📚 Implement and teach Dive into Science marine science curriculum and scuba courses
🌊 Teach marine science curriculum and meet with participants for lessons and field trips
🧑🎓 Organize and shepherd multiple cohorts of students through the multi-year curriculum
🗣️ Communicate with partner organizations and collaborators
