Reef Check has reached a significant milestone! Th Reef Check has reached a significant milestone! Thanks to *25 years* of hard work from our volunteer EcoDivers we now have more than 15,000 coral reef surveys in our global database! The data are analyzed and used locally by marine park managers, nationally by fisheries and environment managers, and internationally by organizations, including United Nations agencies, to help better track and care for coral reefs.

Key finding:  After removing urchins, Reef Check divers in Noyo Bay documented a positive increase in kelp densities over 15 months at the restoration area!

Los Angeles friends- Reef Check is happy to announ Los Angeles friends- Reef Check is happy to announce that we have been selected as a recipient of the Buffalo Exchange Tokens for Bags® program from July through December 2022. You can now help Reef Check just by shopping at Buffalo Exchange in Sherman Oaks. Instead of a plastic bag, the Tokens for Bags® program offers every customer who makes a purchase one “token” valued at five cents (the cost to produce a bag) to donate to one of several local charities selected by the store. The program has generated over $893,860 for hundreds of local nonprofit organizations since 1994 and has saved over 17.87 million plastic bags from the landfill.
