Because the ocean is wet 😉

November is Coral Bleaching Awareness Month, a global call to recognize and respond to the escalating threat of coral bleaching. Healthy corals are vibrant and full of life, but when stressed by rising ocean temperatures, they lose their color, and their ability to support the ecosystems and communities that depend on them.

This year’s theme, Life is Better in Color, reminds us that there’s still hope. By reducing local stressors, supporting coral research and restoration, and demanding stronger climate action, we can help reefs recover and thrive once again.

Join us by following @coral_org and posting with #LifeIsBetterInColor, #HopeForCoral, and #ForCoral to spread awareness and take action for reefs everywhere.

Big news in Aqaba!

In partnership with the United Nations Development Programme and the Global Fund for Coral Reefs, a new team of EcoDivers from the Royal Jordanian Navy has officially joined the Reef Check family. Participants learned how to monitor coral reef health using Reef Check’s globally recognized methods.

This collaboration marks a powerful step forward for Jordan’s national marine conservation efforts. This is what it looks like to strengthen local capacity, protect reefs, and connect data to a global network designed to safeguard coral ecosystems.

Read the full story on our blog to learn how science, collaboration, and community are coming together to protect one of the Red Sea’s most valuable ecosystems.
