You don’t have to be a diver to volunteer with Reef Check. Our partners working on installing and servicing environmental sensors are seeking non-diving shore support help, and we’d love for YOU to join us! 🤝
Here’s what you’ll do as a volunteer shore observer:
✅ Attend dive briefings to understand the dive plan and emergency procedures
✅ Hang out on the beach with our emergency supplies (O2 kit, first aid kit, AED) during the dive
✅ Be prepared to call 911 and help direct EMS to our location if needed
✅ Possibly assist with gear transportation to and from our entry/exit point
✅ Enjoy the beach, read, birdwatch, and answer questions from curious beachgoers while our dive team is underwater! 😊🏖️
No first aid/CPR/AED/O2 training required – our divers are fully trained and equipped to handle emergencies. Your presence adds an extra layer of safety and support for our team! 🚑
Magnolia site visits occur quarterly, and Lincoln Park dives are monthly. Your participation enhances our dive operations and ensures a safer environment for all. 🙌

Being a Reef Check diver doesn’t just mean you know the ecosystem. You must be Rescue certified to join our volunteer program, and that means you need your Emergency First Responder training.
EFR includes primary and secondary care, so you’ll learn CPR among other emergency skills like bleeding, shock management, and choking.
