Many of our team members are affected by the Southern California wildfires.
These fires, fueled by prolonged drought and erratic weather patterns linked to climate change, are a stark reminder of the urgent need for environmental action.
We will continue fighting climate change by restoring vital ecosystems like kelp forests and coral reefs, which absorb carbon and protect biodiversity. There is still time to make change.

755kg of ghost nets removed 👻
Garmin Malaysia and Reef Check Malaysia joined forces to protect Malaysia’s marine ecosystems, removing an impressive 755kg of ghost nets—far surpassing their initial 100kg target!
This initiative, conducted across Pulau Besar, Pulau Aur, and other islands, empowered local communities through specialized training for underwater cleanups. The nets were also upcycled into stylish clutches, thanks to a collaboration with The Sea Monkey Project. This initiative not only protects marine ecosystems but also fosters community awareness and innovation.
We are so proud of this team! Stay up to date by following @reefcheckmalaysia
