Are you a scuba diver and you always wanted to know how to measure the health of a coral reef in two hours, working with a dedicated team of like-minded divers. Did you ever dream about a trip of a lifetime where you could contribute directly to conservation of coral reefs? If so, you can enter the competition to join your choice of an expedition to Oman, the Maldives or Malaysia! In partnership with Reef Check and the Marine Conservation Society, Biosphere Expeditions is offering a free spot on an expedition to Musandam (Oman), the Maldives or Tioman Island (Malaysia). Each trip includes training and certification as a Reef Check EcoDiver. And even if you don't win the expedition prize, you may receive a separate prize package from Reef Check or the Marine Conservation Society! To participate, you must be a qualified diver (minimum PADI Open Water or equivalent). The winner also needs to be willing to help out with a hands-on conservation project – this is not just a dive holiday! All of these locations are under threat of bleaching and we need help tracking this. If this sounds like your idea of a perfect trip, then tell Biosphere who you are, why they should take you on, and what you think you can contribute to the diving expedition. More information about these trips and the application form can be found at http://www.biosphere-expeditions.org/competition. The application deadline is May 1, so enter soon! Good luck!
