We would like to present the Declaration along with a list of one million names to all coral reef country governments in January 2009. The purpose of this pledge is to highlight the high value of coral reefs and to encourage all people and governments to support coral reef conservation. After reading the pledge please fill out the form below and encourage your friends to sign up. You must include your full name, country and an email – but if you want to be kept informed about progress on the Declaration and coral reefs, please fill out the complete form. 2008-05-03 Tanya Haynes Colorado UNITED STATES One World, One Ocean...together we can make a difference. It takes only one person to damage a reef and only one person to protect a reef. Please do your part to protect and conserve this valuable resource.
2008-04-30 David Tickler UNITED KINGDOM I love diving, and particularly diving on coral reefs, and am in the lucky position of earning my living guiding and teaching divers. The thought that subsequent generations might not have the opportunities that I have had to explore these unique environments makes me angry and sad at our collective short-sightedness and selfishness. We all have a responsibility to limit our impact on reefs and other ecosystems and we can all make changes in our lifestyules and behaviours today that will begin to reverse the current destructive trends. I hope that everyone on this list will be an ambassador for the reefs we love.
