2008-07-15 Camille Robbins Florida UNITED STATES It is sad that we as humans have no idea how big an impact our irresponsible practices have on each other, as well as all of the creatures on this planet. Hopefully, this initiative can begin the process of raising awareness of and accountability for our oceans and reefs.
2008-07-15 Steven Diaz Florida UNITED STATES I completely support what the proposed declaration is requesting of us. It is important to understand the fragile state in which reefs of today are in because of extrinsic factors placed on them. I hope that the Industry of aquaculture begins to make motions toward cultivating specimens which are aquacultured and using more responsible wholesalers, etc. There needs to be a collaborative effort from various disciplines and industries, working toward one common goal; and that is the safety and propagation of coral reefs. Then may we begin to see change in many of the reef ecosystems threatened today.
