We would like to present the Declaration along with a list of one million names to all coral reef country governments in January 2009. The purpose of this pledge is to highlight the high value of coral reefs and to encourage all people and governments to support coral reef conservation. After reading the pledge please fill out the form below and encourage your friends to sign up. You must include your full name, country and an email – but if you want to be kept informed about progress on the Declaration and coral reefs, please fill out the complete form. 2008-09-03 dave ball UNITED KINGDOM All reefs must be protected, even in the UK we have some types of coral which are now being destroyed. If the reefs go then so will everything else on the planet. Its no good waiting until a species becomes endangered, the time to take action is now and the best thing we can do is educate the young so there will still be reefs when they have children.

2008-08-19 Nohora Galvis COLOMBIA I am working volunteerly in the IYOR 2008 campaign. One of the efforts has been to call scuba diving operators to apply Reef Check Methodologies to monitor Colombian Coral Reefs. They have wondered if this year there is some funding to compare the sites they help to monitor during 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000. The reports were provided to the managers at that time and would be interesting results to present before the media at the end of 2008 and advertise them through http://icri-colombia.blogspot.com/ I have the email addresses of the 160 Colombian scuba diving operators
