With your help, in 2009, Reef Check’s volunteer citizen scientists were able to survey over 500 reefs around the world and 70 sites along the coast of California. Our carefully collected scientific data were used by government staff and other scientists to help make important decisions regarding how to better manage coral reefs internationally and where to place marine protected areas in California. Two major scientific publications relied on Reef Check data to push forward our knowledge of the ocean. We helped to establish sustainable fisheries in two areas of Mexico and to design new national level coral reef monitoring programs in Tobago and St Vincent and the Grenadines. By immersing hundreds of children from tropical countries in the ocean with a mask and snorkel – we opened their eyes to the beauty and importance of reefs.
As a non-profit organization, every single dollar donated and every hour of work done by our thousands of members and volunteers allow us to continue to fight for a healthy ocean. We need your financial help to continue our work and achieve success. Please help us by donating now.
Please help Reef Check SAVE REEFS WORLDWIDE by supporting our efforts in research, education and conservation by making a donation or becoming a Premium member of the Reef Check Foundation. Your contribution of:
