Dr. Ruben Torres - Caribbean Director Dr. Ruben Torres is the current director for Reef Check Dominican Republic where he coordinates Reef Check activities for the Caribbean region. He completed his bachelors degree at the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) and his Ph.D. at the University of Miami. Dr. Torres collaborates with the Dominican Government to implement local conservation strategies related to the strong tourism industry and private sector. From the Dominican Republic, he works with Reef Check coordinators in the Meso-American region, South America and the wider Caribbean.
